About Us

Welcome to Hilary Duff Web, a fan website dedicated to the wonderful and talented actress, singer, songwriter and designer Hilary Duff. Find out all about the Walt Disney Records recording artist, her new hit album Metamorphosis “Hilary Duff” and her Disney Channel show “Lizzie McGuire”. Features up-to-date news, info, pictures, thousands of downloads, and much, much more! This site is for all fans of Hilary Duff, of course!  This site was started on September 15, 2003 and now features THE largest Hilary Duff gallery on the net!

History of Our website
As with most fansites, this website started on a free server.  We started out at lycos UK (free service) because when I used their website I had a pretty experience with their database.  They’re probably the only company offers free mysql/php hosting.  Plus, before they didn’t have framed ads, just some popups or banners.  Now their framed ads literally take up 1/4th of the page and you can’t get rid of them.  So we were hosted with them for a while.  At first we got absolutely no traffic.  Even after a few months, we would be lucky to get about 30 visitors/day.  We didn’t advertise that much except submit to some search engines.  However, we just didn’t have enough content and good enough design to compete with other websites such as hilarynet at that time.  So after some hard work and revamping our website, we managed to get almost 100 visitors a day.  Still not that much.

We have had a domain name for about 2 years, but only until Summer of 2004 (around July 2004) did we move to paid hosting.  We are now on our second host, which is pretty good (except for a recent database crash…)  We get over a thousand page requests per day right now and this number continues to grow.

In October 2009 site moved to another host (Gertie) which offers better support but as we couldn’t move with the domain (the old host didn’t allow as to do so) we got another one. Now we’re working to make thins again the top Hilary spot in the web!

Why Hilary?
Hilary is sweet, caring, honest, cute, pretty, stylish, caring, and talented person.  The list goes on of course.  She’s a wonderful good role model for young teenagers.
